Ghanaian striker John Antwi is expected to be out for three weeks after suffering to an ankle sprain during Al Ahly's 1-0 triumph over Espérance in the CAF Confederation Cup on Saturday evening.
The 22-year-old had netted the only goal of the game for the Cairo giants with a 6th minute close range finish but was forced out of the game in the 73rd minute.
The initial diagnosis of the injury is reported to be a sprain in Antwi’s ankle ligaments after awkwardly spinning his leg trying to stop while running.
Antwi came off in the 73rd minute after an impressive performance, in which he scored the match’s only goal and earned three valuable points for his team in Rades.
Antwi has gotten off to an excellent start at Al Ahly, scoring 5 goals in his 4 games so far.
The striker is set for an MRI following the team’s return to Cairo for further assurance on his injury.
