Defender John Paintsil believes Ghana will win its group at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations with South Africa clinching the second automatic qualifying spot from Group C.

The Black Stars have been drawn in the toughest group at this year’s finals where they will also be facing Senegal and an in-form Algeria.

The Ghana team struggled to book its place at the 2015 AFCON as they continue to endure the after-effects of their shameful early exit from the 2014 World Cup.

But John Paintsil who plays his club football in South African believes the team is still good enough to win Group C which will be based in Mongomo.

“They [South Africa] will qualify but Ghana will be top,” he told Metro TV’s KickOff.

“Algeria and Senegal will go home because I want Ghana and South Africa to play in the finals.”

Ghana will open its 2015 AFCON campaign on January 19 against Senegal before taking on Algeria and then South Africa in Group C.
