Unstoppable, Explosive. These are some of the best adjectives that the pundits have used for Bashir Hayford’s AshantiGold following their terrific start to the new season that has seen them dispatched likes of Great Olympics, Berekum Chelsea, Liberty and now-on Wednesday 11th February – defending league champions Asante Kotoko who will be in Africa this season left the Obuasi Len Clay stadium as the latest side to be victimized by the Miners.
The figures never lied and as usual Sportsworldghana.com’s Gariba Raubil presents you with the computational figures and commentaries.
After the match-day seven rankings computation, Ashgold totaled 562.5 ranking points to pick the Club of the Week award which is given to the best performed side following each match-day. This is the second time that the three-time Ghana champions have picked the award and the only side to do so as they also came out with more ranking points than any other side after macth-day three where they defeated Berekum Chelsea, the strongest opponent on match-day three.
Robert Dabuo,Henry Traore,Tijani Joshua,Hello Kwaku,Paul Shitembi,Joseph Atto Bisah,Awudu Nafiu,Emmanuel Baffour,Yakubu Mohammed and Bernard Morrison have been the main performers of Ashgold and fans could only hope the successful start of the club counts at the end of the season.
The tag for the second best performed side this week hangs around Heart of Lions (350 ranking points) who traveled to the Wa Park to beat All stars by a goal to nil thanks to striker SamuelAyew Yeboah , a venue where visitors do not normally come out with all three points.
The match between Inter Allies(6th on table) and Aduana stars(2nd on table) also attracted attention in that, Aduana were the second strongest side with Opposition Strength of 1.75 after Ashgold heading into match-day seven and Inter Allies won over them(2-0) while notably keeping a clean sheet in the game.
Allies just as Lions got 350 ranking points but Lions won away from home and that explains why they came second with Allies settling at 3rd.
Brong Ahafo United came 4th with 325 ranking points after winning over Hasaacas who were placed at a respectable 3rd position on the league log before Week seven.

Why The Figures Above never lied?
Even by putting the ranking points aside and then do an anecdotal judgment as to which club performed best during the week, its obvious that Ashgold were still going to be selected by many with acclamation as the best side of the week seven due to the fact that they emerged winners in the top-liner of the week and also defeated the defending champions.
New Edubiase might have defeated Hearts of Oak at Accra and thats remarkable but Hearts of Oak’s O.S was as weaker as 0.625 meaning Edubiase did not beat a comparatively stronger opponent just as BA United and Heart of Lions Inter Allies did.
