Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan is impressed with the coaching methods of Avram Grant as the team trim the rough edges for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Grant was handed the Black Stars job early last month and had very little time to prepare for the upcoming tournament.

The Israeli trainer presided over two training sessions in Accra before the team departed to Seville, Spain for camping.

It’s early days yet but Gyan believes the former Chelsea and West Ham United manager is on the right path.

“It’s been good. He’s somebody who tries to work with the players to make sure the players adapt what he says and I think it is a good thing,” the Al Ain striker said.

“And so far his strategy was to just give everybody a free role to exhibit his skills to see how he’s going to use all of his players.

“I’m not in his mind but as the training programme goes you could see we will were doing more football work than the running so it’s a good thing for a start so we are really eager to work with.”

agyemang badu hve not done enough to convince me of late.i think he should be more creative instead of running with the ball and up his game.i watched the match against portugal he was nonexistant couple with sme few matches he was paired with rabiu. The problem in the squad nw is the abscence of a creativ player in the middle of the pitch n i think grant need to look at it carefully perharps wakaso or acquah if they are equal to the task should take this role. GOD BLESS OUR HOMELAND GHANA. WE WOULD DEFINITELY TOP THIS GROUP WITH EASE.

Mumbi...Nobody was talking about afcon 2010... but to be honest I got no vim for this current squad... I will support them but will not expect too much from them....

Blood lier, in 2008 ghana hosted afcon and Cameroun booted them out in the semi-finals. Cameroun played against Egypt in the finals and it took Song's defencive error to give Egypt a goal in the dying minutes of the game. Check your facts.

Kwasi Appiah was making them run around. Ghana can pull a surprise because we are not under pressure. The players will give their best.

Fitness first. The running I bet made Ghana played better against Germany. Usually, we'd by tired playing teams like Brazil and the likes. We need enough time to train. Playing the ball is something any Ghanaian can do. Even kindergarten boys in Ghana play good football If we get a fit squad that can run; with Baba Rahman's current confidence n Harrison Afful's skill n swiftness, the back wings are safe. Get Rabui with Badu to fix the midfield n atsu n ayew on both flanks. Gyan n Jordan n some quality substitute to bring in the likes of Solomon Asante, Accam, wakaso n Afriye Acquah, Ghana can pull out some good football

I always had issues with the discipline of the so called "big players" of the team. Anybody realized Sulley, Essien and Kelvin always had a reason to report late in camp? I mean I personally like them. They're very experienced but they really were the main problem Ghana had for not winning cups. They want to be treated special than others. Sulley for instance was mad when he was on bench during the pre world cup friendly against Holland. Kelvin, the same when he was substituted during the Germany match. Essien seem to be the odd one except he gives too much excuses when it comes to national duties. Enough of them. Afcon 2008, Ghana had the youngest inexperienced team n still went to the final. Outplayed Egypt but lost by a shot on target margin. This year can be a good one too
