Foxes move pleases Perez
Ayoze Perez has brought his five-year spell with Newcastle United to an end and joined Leicester City for an undisclosed transfer fee.
The 25-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a four-year contract at King Power Stadium.
The Spaniard moved to the north-east from Tenerife in the summer of 2104 and scored 42 goals in 179 league appearances for the Magpies.
Perez found the net 12 times in the Premier League in 2018/19, including a hat-trick against Southampton in April, but his exit adds to the gloom at St James' Park following Rafa Benitez's recent departure from the club.
Perez said: "I am very happy and very pleased. I am very proud to be part of the Leicester family and I can't wait to get started."
Meanwhile, Foxes boss Brendan Rodgers said: "I think Ayoze will be a wonderful addition to the squad. He's quick, has a good eye for goal and he's experienced in the Premier League too.
"I think he's a player who will excite our supporters and his style is one that I believe complements the options and quality that we already have here."
Perez will link up with his new team-mates ahead of next week's training camp in France.
Rodgers has already signed Luton Town defender James Justin this summer.
Leicester are 11/2 to finish in the top six this season while Newcastle are 10/3 to be relegated.
