A football drama is slowly unfolding in North London. We are talking about Arsenal, which for some time have not been able to express themselves as they would like (and should) do. Far away are the days when the "Gunners" were called the "Invincibles", a name that was given to them after the wonderful 2004 season, which ended with the victory of the Premier League without even losing a single game. On the bench, as coach was Arsene Wenger, a true icon of the club who has been in the club from 1996 until 2018, a lifetime at the Emirates stadium.

In the last few years, however, the situation has radically changed: bad club choices, players not at the level of Arsenal bought at exorbitant prices and many other problems that have come to the surface with the passage of time. Since 1 July 2018, Arsene Wenger has been replaced by Unai Emery, and despite a Europa League final lost to Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea, the first season was not bad at all, although on 29 November 2019, Emery was sacked after a bad start of next season. From 30 November to 19 December was Fredrik Ljungberg who took over from Emery, until Arsenal chose the new manager: Mikel Arteta, who is still in charge. The season will end with the FA cup victory and even the Community Shield victory against Kloop's Liverpool at the beginning of August 2020.

It seems the preview of something beautiful and romantic (Arteta played for Arsenal from 2011 to 2016), but it is only the beginning of a nightmare: 2020/2021 season ended with the exclusion from the European cups after more than 19 years and the start of the new Premier with 0 points in 3 games, 3 defeats (Brendtford, Chelsea and Manchester City) with 0 goals scored and 9 conceded. Arteta seriously risks the exemption, but the fault cannot be only his. The management has never built a level team, with many "normal" players like Pablo Marì, Cedric, Holding, Chambers renewed at very high prices, Ceballos and Thomas paid a lot, and they never performed as they should. In addiction, in this market session, the Gunners bought Martin Odegaard for €40 million, despite Carlo Ancelotti having already announced the sale of him because he was no longer part of the Italian coach's plans.

A reaction will be needed starting from the next matches, otherwise a disaster will happen, the umpteenth since Arsenal stopped being "Invincible". Confusion reigns in North London, while in the meantime, on the other side of the city, there is Tottenham who are with full points, at the top of the table.
