Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi laughs off calls to challenge for FIFA presidential post
President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi has given little indication that he is moved by claims to stand for the post of FIFA presidency following Sep Blatter’s decision to lay down his tools.
Nyantakyi has been Ghana’s FA president since 2005 and holds the proud record of being the first FA president to qualify Ghana to the world cup in the last three occasions.
Under his reigns Ghana also became the first Africa country to win the FIFA U20 world cup, achieving the success in 2009.
He is also the president of the West Africa Football Association and an executive committee member of the confederation of Africa Football.
“I do not think I am ready for the FIFA job at the moment,” Nyantakyi told Accra based Happy FM
“I am grateful for the believe and trust shown in me,”
Blatter declared he would resign three days ago, bringing an end to a 17 year reign as the most powerful man in world football.
