Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam have launched a bid for Ghana Under-23 defender Peter Oduro Kwarteng, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

Scouts of the European side have identified the 20-year-old as a fine talents and want to offer him a deal at the club in the summer.

The Ghanaian international has confirmed he will not renew his contract with Egyptian side Petrojet when it expires at the end of the season, promting clubs to make enquiries about his availability.

The local representative of the strong centre-back, Nana Kwarteng will travel to Holland on Monday to hold initial discussions with the club over the potential summer move, GHANAsoccernet.com can reveal.

"Ajax have expressed serious interest in him (Oduro Kwarteng) and so we'll hold discussions with them," his local agent Nana Kwarteng told GHANAsoccernet.com

"I will travel to Holland on Monday to start negotiations. Hopefully everything will fall in place.

"He is leaving Petrojet and so we must look at the club which can give him the best offer."

The youngster has also been linked with a move to some unnamed German clubs after he was given permission by his Egyptian outfit to look for a new club.

The ex-Hearts defender is a member of Ghana’s Olympic team and played a part in the Black Meteors qualification to this year’s All Africa Games after beating Mozamnique 2-0 in Tamale two weeks ago.
