Talented Ghanaian midfielder Michael Anaba is optimistic about his future at Elche after be broke into the first team for the first time since arriving two years ago.

Anaba, 21, was an unused substitute as the cash-strapped side lost 2-0 at Ponferradina in the Spanish Segunda Division on Sunday.

The ex-Ghana youth star endured a pretty frustrating last two seasons at the club where he was restricted to youth team action.

But the former Asante Kotoko bright talent has been drafted into the senior team and featured in a number of pre-season games for the side to signal hope of regular action for the senior team.

“It’s feel great to be in the first team. It’s been going pretty well so far and I hope to get my chance soon,” he said

“It’s disappointing we lost our first game but we hope to make amends this weekend at home.”

Elche warded off interest from several clubs including Spanish trio, Real Zaragoza, Racing Santander as well as Swiss side Servette to keep hold of the hugely talented midfielder.
