Former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah finished the first half of the Sudanese league season on the high after his side SC Khartoum recorded a 2-0 win over Al Hilal to finish on 3rd place.

Appiah took over the side just before the season begun and has only lost once in the league and sits on 3rd place with 25 points after the first 14 games.

Khartoum have coped up 6 wins and 7 draws to add to a loss as the royals kept the disappointment of failure to progress to the next stage CAF Confederation cup behind them.

Appiah made history by becoming the first Ghanaian coach to lead the Black Stars to the world cup but lost his job after failing to go pass the group stages and a not so convincing start to the Africa cup of nations qualifiers.

His performance in Sudan should however boost his image after the chaotic circumstance he left the Black Stars job.
