"?Newcastle United midfielder Moussa Sissoko has accused his current side of "overdoing" negotiations over his summer transfer away from the club, claiming they're holding out for too big a fee.

Speaking in an interview with "?L'Équipe Magazine, the Frenchman revealed potential suitors were being scared off by the fact Newcastle were looking to earn €40m for any deal to allow him to leave Tyneside. Both Crystal Palace and Everton have been heavily linked with the player, but have so far been unable to secure a deal.

The"? Telegraph claim both clubs are hoping that Newcastle's demands will fall as Wednesday's transfer deadline gets closer, while West Bromwich Albion could renew their own interest after seeing an offer refused by the Magpies earlier this summer. Newcastle had initially been looking for a £22m fee, but after his performances at Euro 2016, their price went up.

And Sissoko has become disillusioned at the fact he's still not left the club, even with the interest in him: "It is true that since I came back from my holiday at the beginning of August, I have trained again with Newcastle, but as I am supposed to leave, I am training a little away from the squad.

Moussa Sissoko has been quoted in the French media claiming #NUFC are "overdoing it" with their demands for a fee.

"Sometimes I am with them for smaller exercises, but for the important sessions, I am not there.

"Newcastle are asking for €40m for me to be transferred. Honestly, they are overdoing it, they bought me for barely €2m. That is why things are taking longer."

Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Juventus have all approached Newcastle about buying the midfielder this summer too, but none of the big-time trio were willing to offer enough money.
