Merseyside Police are investigating an incident involving fans during Everton's Europa League defeat by Lyon at Goodison Park on Thursday.

Everton captain Ashley Williams barged into into Lyon goalkeeper Anthony Lopes midway through the second half.

That sparked a melee behind the goal in which an Everton fan - carrying a small child - appeared to push a Lyon player.

Uefa is awaiting reports from match officials at the game before deciding whether to take any action.
