Europa League: Rangers' Dessers warns teammates ahead of Malmo test
Rangers forward, Cyriel Dessers has cautioned his teammates to prepare for a daunting challenge as they kick off their UEFA Europa League campaign against Malmo on Thursday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The Swedish champions boast an impressive record against Scottish clubs, with only one defeat in their last eight meetings since 2011.
Currently eight points clear at the top of the Allsvenskan, Malmo pose a significant threat to Rangers.
However, Dessers remains optimistic, citing last Sunday's 3-0 victory over Dundee as a confidence booster.
"Malmo away is not an easy start, but these are the games you want to play when you're playing in Europe," Dessers said.
"I think the win over Dundee can give us some confidence, a boost, and hopefully we can have a good performance there as well and hopefully win."
Rangers manager Philippe Clement will rely on Dessers' clinical finishing to unsettle the Swedish champions.
With Malmo's formidable home record and Rangers' desire to make a strong Europa League start, Thursday's encounter promises to be an intense clash.
