Enyimba FC has seen another appeal for their points against Doma United to be restored by the Nigeria Football Federation appeal committee rejected, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The committee in its ruling dismissed the appeal of the former league champions based on overwhelming evidence, the referee's report and video evidence.

It will be recalled that the match day between Enyimba and Doma United at the Enyimba International Stadium had ended 1-0, but with controversy.

Enyimba scored a goal after 88mins which the assistant referee raised his flag for offside and the referee agreed. However, after restart, Enyimba fans were said to have stopped the game from going on, forcing the referee to visit the StarTimes OB Van, which led to a change in decision from the referee which he was said to have made due to the tension around him.

Hence, the decision of the NFF disciplinary committee to rule that two points be deducted from Enyimba in the game.

Decision of the Appeals Committee:

1. Based on the overwhelming evidence, the Referee’s Report and the video evidence, the Committee holds that the Appeal is hereby

dismissed.

 

2. The Committee hereby adopts the decisions as contained in

paragraphs 1-7 of the decisions of the NFF Disciplinary Committee

of 29th April, 2024 in respect of the match between Enyimba Int’l FC

v. Doma United FC.

3. Consequently, the result of the match at the point of the restart of

the game after over ruling the goal scored as offside is hereby upheld as Enyimba Int’l FC 0, Doma United FC, 0.
