Enyimba FC have appointed Crown FC manager Deji Ayeni as their new head coach as the club moves quickly to arrest their poor run of form in the Nigeria Premier Football League, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Ayeni, who is expected to replace Stanley Eguma following his departure after a disappointing spell, officially resumed duties on Thursday and will take charge of the team ahead of Sunday’s crucial encounter against Rangers International in Aba.

Sources indicate that the highly regarded tactician has not been sighted with Crown FC in Ogbomosho in recent days, with arrangements already concluded between him and the Enyimba management.

The Ilesa-born coach brings solid league experience, having previously enjoyed successful spells with Ekiti United, Sunshine Stars, and Akwa United before joining Crown FC.

Ayeni’s appointment is seen as a decisive step by the People’s Elephant as they look to steady their campaign and return to winning ways.
