Enyeama Remains Fans’ Favourite Despite Premature Nigeria Exit
Seven months after his unceremonious resignation from the Nigeria national team, Vincent Enyeama still holds a special place in fans’ hearts.
The Lille goalkeeper was the cynosure of eyes at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt as football fans including journalists scrammed to get a piece of the former Super Eagles’ captain with selfies being the major highlight.
In his usual ebulient self, the 33-year-old who just extended his contract with the French club, obliged as he posed for several photos with his admirers and even cracked jokes with them.
Enyeama pulled the curtain on his international career, 13 years after making his debut for the Super Eagles after he was left humiliated by coach Sunday Oliseh at the team’s camp.
Unlike others, especially Godfrey Oboabona who snubbed admirers and preferred to go in and out of the hotel, the former Enyimba goalkeeper shared a memorable time with Nigerians especially former Super Eagles’ teammates.

Also, Chelsea’s John Mikel Obi and Aaron Samuel are now in town for the farewell game for Yobo. They zoomed in few minutes after the arrival of former Manchester United manager David Moyes and Cameroon star Samuel Eto’o Fils all lodged at Le Meridian Hotel.
Others already confirmed for the game are Ahmed Musa, Danny Shittu, Dele Ayenugba, Onyekachi Okonkwo, Chidi Odiah and Stephen Appiah.
