English side Burton Albion to set up coaching clinics in Ghana this summer
A GROUP has said a big thank-you ahead of a trip of a lifetime to provide education, building and football coaching in Ghana.
In a matter of days staff and volunteers from Burton Albion Community Trust will head to Africa on the trip.
But before they go they wanted to thank everyone who has supported them.
The team of volunteers are aiming to make a real difference to the lives of the children in Ghana.
At the same time funds raised will provide support for the work of the trust in the Burton area.
Dan Brookes, social inclusion officer at the trust, said: 'I'm really excited about what could be a life changing experience.
"I want to do football coaching to see just how different it is in another country with fewer resources than what I use here."
Rob Rea, volunteer on the trip from The Pingle School, said: "In order to fund the visit, each of us had to raise money and we did that through the support of local organisations and friends and family.
"We just all wanted to say a big thank-you to everyone for their help."
Other sponsors of the trip include RAES, Chameleon School of Construction and Tag Leisure, the sponsors of Burton Albion Football Club's first team kit.
