Super Eagles midfielder, Sylvester Igbonu plays his club football in Russia with FC Ufa and he certainly is keen on being part of the party when the World comes pouring into the East European country for the 2018 FIFA World Cup – this time with the Super Eagles.

The 25-year-old knows a thing or two about working hard and digging one’s heels in when the tough gets going as he survived the relegation battle with UFA in the Russian top flight last season. In that vain he believes Nigeria can beat the odds to make its Sixth World Cup appearance.

Igbonu praised the quality and determination in the current Super Eagles squad but also believes that getting past Algeria, Cameroon and Zambia will require hard work.
