A new twist has emerged in the transfer of Super Eagles striker Cyriel Kolawole Dessers to newly-promoted Italian Serie A club Cremonese, as FC Copenhagen is set to hijack the deal.

On Tuesday, Italian Transfer Football expert Fabrizio Romano had confirmed that the former Feyenoord was in talks with Cremonese, and that it was progressing well since last week as the deal could be sealed soon, after Dessers with his agents were in Italy.

But on Wednesday, Voetbalnieuws reported that the Nigerian could move to the Danish Superliga after he was spotted in Tivoli, Copenhagen having a meeting with FC Copenhagen Head coach Jess Thorup and Sports Director of the club.

Recall Thorup did managed Dessers at Genk before he went to Feyenoord on loan last season.

The development has not gone down well as Genk management is certainly not satisfied with the fact that Dessers went to Denmark without notice to discuss the transfer.

This can however force the Belgian club to cash in on the 27-year-old only if the Danes put the sum on the table that Genk wants.

Genk has put a €6million euros price tag on the striker whom they paid €4 million euros for from Heracles Almelo in 2020.
