Super Eagles Coach, Sunday Oliseh has revealed he had not considered handing Obafemi Martins a recall to the national team after news emerged the 30-year-old could be in line as the replacement for retired Emmanuel Emenike.

Oliseh told www.footballlive.ng that he has a pool of players he has decided to work with in the interim but the Seattle Sounders forward has not yet been considered for an invite.

” We have so many strikers to look at, we can’t focus on just a player. we have a pool of players composed of five or six and prior to yesterday we have not really looked outside for new strikers because Emenike was part of the plan.

”Perhaps now we’ll turn the searchlight in the direction of a striker but we can’t start that now too, until the CHAN qualifier on Sunday; so before Monday I’ll sit down with my assistants and we’ll decide,” Oliseh stressed.

The former Inter Milan and Wolfsburg striker last featured for Nigeria in 2013 in a World Cup qualifying match against Kenya
