Netherlands goalkeeper Jasper Cillesen is looking forward to the challenge of trying to help new club Valencia challenge for silverware in the near future.

The 30-year-old has found first-team opportunities extremely limited during three seasons with Barcelona and has taken up the opportunity to start afresh at the Mestalla, a move he is clearly very happy with.

I'm looking forward to getting started and to winning things here.

Cillesen told his new club's official website: "It's incredible. It's very special for me and I can't wait to get started - I'm very happy. I said straight away that I wanted to go to Valencia. It wasn't difficult for me.

"Valencia are a special club, a great club with a great history. It was easy for me to make the decision to come here and I'm looking forward to getting started and to winning things here."

Cillesen joined Barca from Ajax in the summer of 2016, while on the international stage has won exactly 50 caps for the Oranje.

While Cillesen has exited the Nou Camp to head to Valencia, one-time Brazil international keeper Neto has headed in the opposite direction.

The 29-year-old South American was first choice during two seasons with Los Che, helping the club to Copa del Rey success last season, with Valencia defeating Barcelona 2-1 in the final.

Neto started his career in his homeland with Atletico Paranaense, before enjoying spells in Italy with first Fiorentina and then Juventus.

Valencia are priced at 100/1 to win La Liga next season, with Barca 4/6 and Real Madrid 11/8.
