According to an article that appeared in Mexican newspaper Record, Chivas and Pachuca's negotiation for Erick Aguirre seem to have fallen through, as the differences between what Pachuca was asking for the midfielder and what Chivas was willing to give were ultimately too great.

According to sources close to Pachuca, the main disagreement between the two sides stemmed from the fact that Pachuca's asking price was too great for Chivas, who are seemingly trying to cut costs. Chivas tried to offer Alejandro Mayorga in exchange for Aguirre, but Pachuca refused. Fernando Beltran was another player that entered negotiations for Aguirre, but once again Pachuca was not willing to part ways with the midfielder unless Chivas included an adequate financial offer together with the aforementioned players, something Chivas never did.

Gudalajara will now have to look elsewhere to satisfy manager Vucetich's requests that include a midfielder.
