Chidera Ejuke is gradually coming to his best following the unfortunate hamstring injury that kept him out of action since October 2024. he made a cameo appearance in Sevilla's 2-1 victory against Girona, and since then, he has been gradually eased into the team by Garcia Pimienta.

His inclusion in the starting XI yesterday was justified after the Nigerian winger struck a 47th-minute goal at the Reale Arena, with the goal proving to be the winner for seven-time UEFA Europa League champions, leading them to a crucial away victory.

"When he got injured, he was in great form. He was practically out for three months, with what that means to then get back into shape. The opportunity has come for Ejuke, who did very well. He had some very good minutes also on a defensive level for the team. We are very happy for him too", Garcia Pimienta said in his pre-match assessment.

Ejuke and Sevilla will now turn their attention to hosting Athletic Club on Sunday.
