The former goalkeeper led Rangers to their first title in 32 years by winning the 2015/2016 NPFL title.

Amapakabo's contract extension was confirmed on Rangers' official twitter handle on Wednesday, ending any hopes of other NPFL clubs making attempts to lure him away from the Enugu-based team.

The new contract will now see Amapakabo continue as head coach of the Coal City side until 2018.

"It's official: coach Imama Amapakabo signs a two year extension with us," the club said on their official website.

Amapakabo himself later confirmed the new deal via his twitter handle ?@amapakab.
