Remo Stars Sporting Club have begun their CAF Champions League campaign with a well deserved 2-1 victory against AS FAR FC at the Ikenne Stadium as CAF continental action continues, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Captain Nduka Junior opened the goal scoring board in the 19th minute of the encounter after glancing home a Sodiq Ismail freekick from the right to the applause of a roaring home crowd, taking the lead into half-time.

ASFAR FC got their equalizer just moments after the resumption of the tie, converting a header of a cross in the 49th minute to put themselves back into the game.

Both sides pushed on for a winner but it was the home team that got the lead and the winner through the first goal provider, Sodiq Ismail who was rightly on hand to nod home a glorious cross from Nduka Junior.

Meanwhile, El-Kanemi Warriors played out a thrilling 1-1 draw with Dadje FC in the first preliminary round of thier CAF Confederations Cup
