The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has chosen Morocco to stage the second edition of the Africa Women Champions League, Nigeriasoccernet gathered.

The inaugural edition won by South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns ladies was staged in Egypt and the governing body has chosen to stage the second edition in another neighbouring North African country.

Mamelodi Sundown Ladies defeated Hassacass Ladies of Ghana 2-0 in the final of the inaugural edition.

Rivers Angels represented Nigeria then but failed to progress past the group stages.

Bayelsa Queens however have earned the rights to represent Nigeria in the regional playoff which precedes the main tournament.

CAF executive committee under Patrice Motsepe on Sunday in Rabat Morocco announced Morocco as the host country for the 2022 edition of the tournament.

October was also announced as the kickoff with each region expected to have completed its qualifiers before then.
