Nigerian forward, Wdemola Lookman has submitted a formal transfer request to Atalanta, citing "months of broken promises" and "poor treatment" from the club's management, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Inter reportedly made a €45 million offer, which Atalanta rejected, seeking €50 million.

According to football Italian Journalist, Daniele Mari, Lookman handed in the request after Atalanta rejected several offers from Inter Milan.

The 27-year-old forward has expressed frustration over the club's decision, despite a reported agreement that he could leave if a fair offer was made.

In a statement on Instagram, Lookman explained that he had tried to prioritize the club and fans, but felt compelled to speak out due to the circumstances.

He however, thanked Atalanta's supporters for their backing and apologized for the situation unfolding in this manner.

Lookman's future remains uncertain as negotiations between Atalanta and Inter Milan continue
