Big relief for Ghana Premier League clubs as First Capital Plus Bank pays second tranche of season's sponsorship money
First Capital Plus Bank has credited the account of the Ghana Football Association the Cedi equivalent of US$ 500,000 as second tranche of this season's sponsorship money.
A publication by the state-owned Graphic Sports on Friday claimed suggested the 16 clubs in the top-flight were chasing the league’s sponsor US$ 67,000 each as second tranche of their sponsorship money.
But GHANASoccernet.com understands payment was made on Thursday afternoon.
Each club pocketed about GH¢33,000 from the first tranche which represented a 30 per cent of the total amount.
First Capital Plus Bank pay US $2 million for an entire season but the decision to hedge the dollar at GH¢2.50 instead of the prevailing GH¢3.80 has been an issue.
The second half of the season is expected to begin on 7 June and end on 13 September.
