Following Club Owners meeting with NFF Boss, Ibrahim Gusau on Monday, former international Benedict Akwuegbu has reacted to the aftermath of the meeting.

Akwuegbu who contested in the NFF elections, accused the club owners of double standard and insincerity.

He questioned why the club owners kept quiet about the challenges of the league all the while and decided to speak about them after eight years.

"I detest the attitude of the club owners. Why do they have to wait for 8 years before coming out to Condemn Shehu Dikko. Were they not meeting with him all through that period? Why did they not confront him then. It is only now that he is no longer in office that they are pointing out all these things which they virtually all benefitted from”. Akwuegbu said while speaking with exclusivenews.com.ng from his base in London.

He urged that the past be forgotten and the focus should be on the future that is bright instead of apportioning blames.

“Let us accept our mistakes and forget the past and move ahead. It is a new beginning in Nigeria Football, Ibrahim Gusau will turn things around, we should all support him”.

The Club owners in a meeting with the NFF Boss on Monday enumerated challenges that have bedeviled the league with the aim of finding a lasting solution.
