Beleaguered Tottenham star Emmanuel Adebayor named in Togo squad to face Ghana in pre-2017 AFCON qualifiers friendly
New Togo coach Tom Saintfiet has named troubled Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor in his 23-man squad to face Ghana next month in an international friendly.
Adebayor has been in the news for the all the wrong reasons the last two months due to his feud with his family.
His English Premier League before last week’s final league match to sort out his domestic problems.
Adebayor will not travel on the post-season tour to Malaysia and Sydney.
The Hawks squad includes in-form goalkeeper Kossi Agassa, striker Jonathan Ayité of Turkish second-tier side Alanyaspor and Alaixys Romao of Olympique Marseille.
Togo want to use the exhibition match to prepare for their opening 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Liberia at home.
The Black Stars will host Mauritius on 14 June at the Accra Sports Stadium in their Group H opener.
