FC Cincinnati new signing, Chidozie Awaziem has expressed his excitement after a successful debut and 1-0 victory over Querétaro in the Leagues Cup, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Awaziem who arrived Canada in the morning of the match played the full 90 minutes, helping his new team end a three-game losing streak.

"It feels amazing to be part of this wonderful club," he said. "I'm excited and happy we came out with the three points."

The centre-back revealed he felt no need to be substituted, despite it being his long flight to Cincy.

"I was feeling good, so I felt there was no point going out to the bench," he added.

Awaziem's enthusiasm and commitment have made an immediate impact at FC Cincinnati.
