After a stop-start beginning to life at Villa Park, the 24-year-old scored five goals in nine Premier League games before the season went to pieces for the club.
He finished the campaign as the side's top goalscorer and would have been a nominee for their Player of the Year award had it not been scraped.
He's been linked with French side Bordeaux among others, but supporters are very keen to keep the Ghanaian for their promotion bid this coming season, and owner Dr Tony Xia assured the Aston Villa fans that Ayew will not be allowed to leave.
"BTW (Jordan) Ayew will stay as I trust (Roberto Di Matteo) too, and he is confident (of having) a good squad (for the coming season)," he said on Twitter.
A ruthless finisher in the final third, while possessing excellent individual skills, Jordan Ayew was one of few positive aspects of Aston Villa's ill-fated season.
The 24-year-old set Villa back around £12m, and does look capable of scoring the goals to send the club back into the Premier League. His off-the-ball movement sees him work openings for himself, and he's performed well as a strike partner too.
Capable of feeding off the flick-ons and knock-downs from a target man, Ayew has a lot more to showcase to supporters, and the news that the club are doing everything in their power to assure he stays has been well-received.
The African striker has impressed during pre-season too, scoring in Villa's comeback win over Telford, and looks happy to remain, even if the rumour mill says otherwise.
