Asante Kotoko’s skipper Jordan Opoku says victory over Aduana Stars is an indication of better things to come
Asante Kotoko’s skipper Jordan Opoku has credited his sides impressive 3-1 victory over Aduana Stars to their mental fortitude and says it’s an indication of better things to come.
Kotoko put up one of their most convincing performance to see off the challenge of often difficult to crack Aduana Stars.
Two goals from defender Christopher Boney and an absolute beauty from midfielder Michael Akkufo ensured Godfred Saka’s goal was only a consolation.
Opoku who skippered the side on the day says the victory is an indication of better days ahead.
“We have had a very difficult season but to be making the finals of the MTN FA cup is a good achievement,” Opoku told GHANAsoccernet.com
“At least we have hope of better days ahead and get an opportunity to defend our trophy we won last season.”
The Ghanaian champions have been excellent in cup competition this season but have struggled to transform that form in the league.
