MARSEILLE winger Andre Ayew has dealt a huge blow to a host of Europe's top clubs by admitting that he's open to signing a new contract with his current side.

The sought-after star was expected to leave his club when his contract expires in the summer.

But the 25-year-old has now said that he would be willing to negotiate with his current employers.

In an interview with L'Equipe, he said: "The door is always open. Today, I don't know what the future holds.

"Soon I will meet Mr Labrune (Marseille president) with my father, as I currently do not have an agent.

"We are going to hear what the president has to say and after that I will decide the next step."

And the Ghanian international has made it clear that he wants to be assured that the club is ambitious if he is to stick around.

He said: "Whether the club secure qualification or not for the Champions League, my decision will solely depend on what I have experienced and I can still experience at the club.

"If I have to stay at Marseille, it will be because the club has big ambitions and things are in place to keep it that way.

"But if this is not the case, our paths will separate but in a very nice way.

"I'm someone who likes to prepare for the future, but right now I just take it one day at a time."
