Al Merrikh pummel Gateway United in preseason friendly
Sudanese giants, Al Merrikh thrashed Nigeria National League side, Gateway United FC in a pre season friendly in Ikenne on Wednesday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.
The multiple champions of the Sudanese league outclassed the Nigerian side 13-1 at the Remo Stars Stadium with hattrick of goals from Abdullah Qasama and Musa Hussein.
Ahmed Tabanja started the onslaught with a six minute goal before Santiago Patino doubled the lead three minutes later.
Anas Adam soon made it 3-0 a minute later as Patino scored his second on the 11th minutes to completely rattle the Nigerian side.
More goals came in before the end of the first 45 minute as Mohammed Al Rashid in the 30th minute and Musa Al Tayeb five minutes later made it 6-0 at halftime.
Gateway United pulled one back, but second half substitute Abdullah Qasama scored twice on 48 and 52 minutes to increase the goal margin.
Musa Hussein scored his hattrick goals in quick succession on 56, 58 and 61 minutes before Qasama completed his hattrick seven minutes later.
Moataz Al Toza completed the annihilation on '85 minute to end the encounter 13-1.
Al Merrikh had been in Nigeria for about a week as they get ready for the new season with a preseason tour in Nigeria.
