Middlesbrough striker, Chuba Akpom said he’s extremely humbled after receiving his 2022/2023 Championship Payer of the season Award, Nigeriasoccernet.com report.
The former Arsenal prodigy had been somewhat in oblivion, spending some seasons at Greek side PAOK and Belgian outfit Sint-Truiden.
The 27-year-old has been in breathtaking form this season, netting a total of 29 goals in all competitions for the Championship side.
He has now helped Michael Carrick’s side to take them within touching distance of the Premier League.
Akpom will not forget his long rung to success even as he’s been celebrated across England.
He said: “Championship player of the season.
“Feeling extremely humbled and blessed to receive this award.
“It’s been a journey full of ups and downs but I’ve learnt so much on the way.”
