Nigeria's Akor Adams salvaged a point for his club, Montpelier in the French Ligue 1 match day 1 encounter against Strasbourg on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Adams caused a penalty which was converted by Téji Savanier to get a point against Strasbourg at the Stade de la mosson.

The visitors were in front 14 minutes after the resumption of the game after a goalless affair in the first phase of the game.

Habib Diarra opened score with a right footed shot from the left side of the pitch assisted by Ismael Doukoure.

However, four minutes after the one hour mark, Adams is fouled in the 18 yard box and the referee blew his whistle for a penalty which was converted by Savanier.

Adams who came close to scoring twice in the first half and one in the second half with saves from the goalkepper, played for 80 minutes before he was replaced with Othmane Maama.

Montpelier will now shift focus to their next game against league reigning champions, PSG at the Parc De Princes on Friday.
