Nigeria-born Djibouti international opened his goal-scoring account for El Merriekh on Wednesday as they defeated Munuki FC 2-1 in a pre-season friendly game, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The rugged and energetic striker in what was his first appearance for the club he joined last week scored the first goal of the clash to announce his arrival in Sudan and as well give El Merriekh the lead.

Musa doubled the advantage for El Merriekh before the opponent halved the deficit going into the break. The scores remained the same after the 90 minutes with neither side able to find the back of the net in the second half.

Samuel joined El Merriekh from Djibouti side Arta/Solar 7 on a year contract with options to extend for more years.

He is expected to lead the team's attack as they kick off their CAF Champions League preliminaries campaign on Sunday against Kenya's Gor Mahia FC at  Juba National Stadium.
