AFCON: Terem Moffi replaces injured Victor Boniface

Boniface's replacement in the squad became inevitable after reports of the Bayern Leverkusen forward got injured in the build to the AFCON.
The 23-year-old who was reported to have a groin injury that could see him out for about 6 weeks could not feature in the 2 warm matches of the Super Eagles on Sunday and Monday.
According to sources in the Super Eagles Abu Dhabi camp, the scan carried out on the big man showed the injury worse than expected hence the need for him for to return to German to continue treatment.
Terem Moffi who had been mentioned in the 41-man preliminary list was not shortlisted after the final 25-man list.
Meanwhile, the OGC Nice striker will have to wait CAF's decision concerning the replacement due to some procedural matters.
