Ghana defender Daniel Amartey has urged his teammates to develop a strong mentality in dealing with the devastating defeat to Senegal on Monday.

The Black Stars failed to build on an early momentum which handed the side a 13th minute lead through a converted sport kick by Andre Ayew.

Ghana eventually finished the game as losers with Mame Biram Diouf and Moussa Sow scoring to give Senegal a deserved win for their exceptional second half display.

Amarety who impressed as one of three players making their Nations Cup bow for Ghana wants his teammates to rebound strongly from the crashing defeat against Senegal.

“It is the mentality, we have to be strong,” the Copenhagen man who won the Fair Play award in the game on Monday told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“I know right now there will be pressure but we are players and we have to be strong.

“We don’t know what is going to happen in the next game, we’ll see.

“We will take our chances and win the next game.”
