Jordan Ayew is rallying support for the team ahead of their next Africa Cup of Nations group game against Algeria, insisting the Black Stars are 'down but no dead'.

Pressure is mounting on the team following their sloppy 2-1 defeat to Senegal in the group's opening game in Mongomo on Monday.

Mousa Sow stole the show with the match-winner on the stroke of full-time to hand the Terranga Lions the well deserved win.

The Ghanaian striker has lamented about the loss but says the West Africans will live to fight another day.

"In the first half we played really well but in the second half we withdrew; playing backwards and we conceded that goal," Jordan Ayew said.

"We needed to fight tonight and go home at least with a draw. A lack of concentration cost us but we are down but not dead. We will see what will happen in the next two games," he added.

Can u shut up there!!!!! Mercenaries!!!!! most of these players are greedy, unpatriotic and disgraceful. Above all do not deserve to wear the Ghana shirt as they have made Ghana a laughing stock across the world. Lastly I am those people who will like to see 90% of these players dropped and a fresh crop of dedicated players brought in to represent the country. We want to see players who can play with heart and play because they love their country and not MONEY!!!!!

In my opinion, Jordan is NOT a black star material by any chance. his work rate is not impressive, he lacks strength, he's hot headed and to crown it all he's not as prolific as they make us think. as a striker, he hasn't even outscored his brother in the French league before. and to me, thats below average performance in an average league
