Ghana striker Kwesi Appiah won the Samsung Fair Play Player of the tournament at the just concluded 2015 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Crystal Place player, on-loan at Cambridge United, was making his tournament debutant in Equatorial Guinea.

He played five matches and scored one goal and provided one assist as Ghana won silver after losing 9-8 on penalties to Ivory Coast in Sunday’s final in Bata.

Appiah, 24, won man of the match in Ghana’s 3-0 quarter-final win over Guinea.

    What’s your issue with this young prospect? He was brought into the team with no prior international experience and performed well above expectation. Maybe if some of the senior players put in half his work rate during the final, the result may have been different. If I was a Ghanaian, I think I would be excited that an enthusiastic footballer was part of your future, irrespective of his ‘Obroni’ background!
