Ghana defender Mohammed Awal is delighted over the three back system employed by coach Avram Grant.

Grant, 59, has hinted of a new system of play for the team after employing the 3-5-2 formation in his last two friendly games.

This system served Holland very well during the World Cup in Brazil and it looks like Grant will be employing a similar strategy for the AFCON.

Awal, who has profited from the change in system and started Ghana's last two games, says he is enjoying playing in the new look set up.

"Training has been massively encouraging and we are all fighting for our position,” the Maritzburg United player told GHANASoccernet.com

"We have tried new things and one of such is the new system and I am really enjoying it.

"It requires a lot of work and thinking but as players it is our duty to do well in every system."
