Ghana forward Andre Ayew has urged his teammates to remain calm ahead of their must-win Group C clash against Algeria on Friday.

The Black Stars are desperate to secure a result against the tournament favourites following their opening group defeat to Senegal on Monday.

Ghana, playing under new coach Avram Grant must churn out wins against Algeria and South Africa in order to survive Group C which is widely considered as the toughest group at the tournament.

The situation leaves the Black Stars anxious for a win to get their campaign back on track.

But Ayew wants the team to maintain their composure for their remaining games.

“We just need to stay calm and not start to get angry, put pressure on ourselves,” he told MTNFootball.com.

“Its football, it is true, we’ve lost the fight but we have not lost the battle.”

MASA THESE ALGERIANS ARE BIG GUYS. UNLESS OUR PLAYERS GET AGGRESSIVE AND PLAY WITH AGRESSION, WE WILL LOOSE. ANDRE AYEW YOU SHOULD CALL FOR AGRESSION NOT CALMNESS. ALGERIA IS IN A COMFORTABLE SPOT AND ARE MORE CALM THAN WE CAN EVER TRY TO BE. GO INTO THE GAME WITH ULTIMATE AGGRESSION! DID YOU SEE THAT USA KIND OF AGGRESSION THEY STARTED THE GAME AGAINST US IN THE WORLD CUP? BEFORE YOU GUYS KNEW IT WE WERE DOWN ONE EARLY GOAL. MASA, AGGRESSION IS WHAT WE NEED GOING INTO THIS GAME. DO OR DIE ATTITUDE ! NOT TIMID CALMNESS. GET YOUR HEAD RIGHT.
