Iconic ex-Ghana skipper Stephen Appiah says the Black Stars will go all the way at the Africa Cup of Nations after overcoming a jerky start to reach the quarter final.
Ghana defied all odds to qualify for the knockout stage by beating South Africa 2-1 in their final Group match despite losing their opener to Senegal.
Appiah believes the team have turned the corner and can now go all the way.
“The most difficult phase of a competition is the group stage and they have shown that they can give a response when needed,” Appiah told GHANAsoccernet.com
“They have now gotten the mental edge and can go all the way in the competition if they get the little luck that comes with champions.”
Appiah who recently retired from football, led Ghana to their first FIFA World Cup berth in Germany 2006 and was a bit-part player in South Africa four years later.
