Super Eagles caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen is anticipating a formidable challenge from Libya in their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Friday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

Nigeria, atop Group D with four points from two games, hosts the Mediterranean Knights at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

Despite favoring the Super Eagles, Eguavoen acknowledges Libya's determination to avoid defeat.

They have one point and are bottom of the group. We are aware of our position and they are aware of their position,” Eguavoen told the Super Eagles media.

They will come here and fight. We are not thinking about the away game, our focus is the game in front of us on Friday.

“We will fight for the three points. We know what it means to get the job done as quickly as possible.

“It is going to be tough but the boys are in good spirit. We have no injury and everyone is ready.”

Kick-off is at 17:00 WAT.
