2024 TotalEnergies WAFCON - Super Falcons Down Cape Verde To Book Participation Spot
Super Falcons of Nigeria have booked their spot in Africa’s most prestigious national women’s competition (WAFCON) next year which is set to take place in Morocco.
Randy Waldrum's Ladies are now the eleventh side to book thier ticket following the big win against Cape Verde in a 7-1 scoreline aggregate result, Nigeriasoccernet.com writes.
Without Asisat Oshoala, Michelle Alozie, Ifeoma Onumomu and a host of other stars' coupled with the absence of head coach who is currently busy with his club duties, Super Falcons head thier own under the tutelage of Justin Madugu to seal a spot in the competition.
Meanwhile, Ghana have qualified for the 2024 TotalEnergies Women's Africa Cup of Nations despite losing Tuesday's second leg 1-0 away to Namibia in their dramatic final qualifier.
It returns Ghana to the continental stage after agonizingly missing out on qualification for the last tournament in 2022.
It will be the first time the Black Queens will be playing in the WAFCON since they last hosted the event in 2018.
