Around 800 000 boys and girls under the age of 15 compete in the CAF African Schools Football Championship, a school competition involving over 44 African nations.

This is the competition's second iteration, and it includes a number of programs in addition to football, such as the Young Reporter, Young Referee, and Safeguarding programs.

Emmanuel Adebayor, the 2008 CAF Player of the Year, played for Togo in their lone FIFA World Cup appearance in Germany in 2006. The Togolese player, who had a great career and earned over 85 caps with Les Eperviers, was formerly a striker for Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid, and other teams.

Daniel Amokachi, a football player from Nigeria, represented the Super Eagles in 42 international games. He was a member of the squad that won the Olympic Games in 1996 and the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in 1994. He also competed in the FIFA World Cups in 1998 and 1994.

In two TotalEnergies CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations events, when they competed, the former captain of Banyana Banyana (South Africa) Dlamini led the team to a worthy finish as they placed third and second, respectively. She is one of the few football players to have 100 caps for both the men's and women's national teams.

Dlamini recently created history at the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d'Ivoire 2023 by being the first female participant in the globe commentary feed.

Talented young players from all around the continent will come together for the finals, which will provide them a stage to display their abilities and love for the game.
