Yacine Brahimi says Algeria are anxious to beat Ghana in Friday’s encounter to avoid a must-win situation against Senegal in their final game in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.

The Desert Foxes have their work cut for them ahead of their meeting against the Black Stars.

They are on top of group C after a fabulous 3-1 comeback win over South Africa on Monday.

The Algerian will secure passage to the quarter-finals with a win over the West Africans and the 2014 BBC African Footballer of the Year says they are desperate to avoid a must-win scenario.

“It will be a very important game for us. Ghana is obliged to win the encounter. For us too, it'll be a very important match as we are desperate to qualify,” he said

“Therefore we’ll be ready for this match. Insha Allah we’ll be ready against Ghana.

Yes of course, we know that if we win, we will be in a good position to pass the first round. In our heads we know.

"However, we know very well that the meeting will be very complicated for us. I just hope that everything will go well and that will be a beautiful match.”
