Bayelsa United recorded their first away win of the season to help their relegation battle in the Nigeria Premier Football League match day 21 fixture against Akwa United on Sunday, Nigeriasoccernet.com reports.

The prosperity Boys defeated the Promise Keepers 1-0 at the Eket Township Stadium to leave the relegation zone courtesy of substitute Ofem Eyong's goal.

After a goalless affair in the first half, Iniekade Tomitimi and Ofem Eyong on for Bassey John and Ifeanyi Assurance respectively in the 67th minute.

10 minutes later, Eyong skipped past his marker, sprinted into the area, hit a grounder past Efala.

Oluwasegun Adekunle was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 90th minute, but the visitors held on to win and move to 16th on the log with 24 points.

The result on the other hand, compound the woes of Akwa United who are 18th position with 21 points.
